This autumn, I decided to take time off of work and volunteer my time and effort toward public health initiatives in Rwanda.
Working with Partners For Conservation, I've assisted a local clinic in their patient education, their work in improving Key Health Indicators, such as use of modern contraceptives, and begun brainstorming larger projects for future collaboration.
Partners For Conservation has a strong connection with the people here in Musanze and throughout Rwanda. I've seen firsthand PFC’s extensive knowledge of the problems these communities face. PFC works tirelessly to not only facilitate solutions, but to empower community leaders to become independent developers of their own futures.
I've managed to both lend my own experience yet also grow my understanding of the work to be down, despite inherent hurdles these communities face.
I've been here for only 3weeks, and have 4 weeks more remaining, but hope to continue to work with PFC beyond.
